Amazing results from the extensive LED test
August 30th. 2016, NRK/FNF (Norwegian State Broadcasting, Norwegian Cinematographers Guild) tested the 8 most popular Bi-Color LED lamps in TLCI. Softlights LED got the highest TLCI score of all test units. Our LED measured 99 and 98 (out of 100) in Daylight and Tungsten.
Our LED achieved, at the same test, the best reference /target curve in reference to to real Daylight and real Tungsten light.
The test focused on how the Camera sees the light on human skin, from the darkest brown to the lightest hues.
How does the camera chip react on LED - compare to natural light sources? Are there any color difference in a RAW file that comes from a LED source versus natural light sources as Daylight or Tungsten? Does the limited color spectrum in the LED give the human skin a kind of «plastic / digital» surface in post production?
The test was done under supervision of NRK/FNF (Norwegian State Broadcasting, Norwegian Cinematographers Guild) with a Stellarnet Black Comet spectrometer, calibrated to Bentham Instruments' halogen lamp. Link to the complete test: http://www.led-light-test.com
